Junior CyberSecurity Engineer

Position overview: We are seeking a motivated and talented Junior Cybersecurity Engineer to join our cybersecurity team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundational knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices, a keen interest in protecting organizational assets, and a desire to grow and develop in a dynamic environment. This role involves assisting in the implementation and management of security measures.

Detyrat

1. Security Tools and Technologies:
   • Utilize and maintain security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systems, EndPoint security systems (EDR).
   • Assist in the configuration and management of security infrastructure and tools.
   • Manage daily tasks (change, incident, troubleshooting…)
   • Install, test, evaluate new equipment/solutions.
2. Security Awareness and Training:
   • Participate in the development and delivery of security awareness training programs for employees.
   • Promote a culture of security awareness and vigilance within the organization.
3. Compliance and Documentation:
   • Assist in ensuring compliance with relevant cybersecurity standards and regulations.
   • Maintain and update security documentation, including policies, procedures, and incident reports.
4. Research and Development:
   • Stay up to date with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.
   • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

Kualifikimet

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Certifications: Certifications are an advantage, such as:
  • CompTIA Security+
  • Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate
  • or other relevant certifications.
• Technical Skills:
• Understanding of network protocols and services (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, etc.).
• Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and Unix.
• Basic knowledge of programming and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, PowerShell).
• Experience with security tools and technologies.
• Knowledge of regulatory directives such as GDPR, HIPAA, or PCI DSS can be an advantage.
• Soft Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Fluency in English is required.
• Experience: Junior levels do not require extensive experience, so 1-2 years as an IT professional or previous internship or co-op experience in a cybersecurity role is a plus.
